Terms & Conditions

Natural Africa 4 x 4 Safaris is a South African tour operator.  Natural Africa 4 x 4 Safaris, who manage all bookings and customer queries, provide the Terms & Conditions stated.

 1. Natural Africa 4 x 4 Safaris Registration Number 2006/059619/23 trading as Natural Africa (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). The Company possesses all licenses and permits necessary to conduct business as a tour operator in Southern Africa.

2. Exclusion of Liability, Suppliers Terms & Risk. Natural Africa will not be held liable for any misrepresentation or any transactions of any kind between clients/travel agents .The following Terms & Conditions are applicable to Natural Africa as tour operator.

2.1 While the Company makes every effort:

2.1.1 to engage quality suppliers among the airlines, hotels, tour operators and other service providers to provide the travel products featured in this packages; and

2.1.2 To ensure that the various services making up your tour will be carried out efficiently and as specified;

It does not have direct control over the provision of services by suppliers and shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, additional cost, accident, delay or irregularity that may be occasioned by any error or default, act or omission of any supplier in carrying out the arrangements of any tour or activity, or otherwise in connection therewith.

2.2 The Company also accepts no liability for changes, omissions or delays before or during the course of any published tour occasioned by technical difficulties, weather conditions, strikes, war or unrest, communication breakdowns or events beyond the control of the Company. All expenses occasioned by such events, including but not limited to unscheduled extensions or curtailment of accommodation, changes to scheduled flights, additional air fares, telephone and meal costs, etc, will be for the customer’s account.

2.3 If in the opinion of the Company, the fulfillment of any tour is considered impossible, illegal or inadvisable because of weather conditions, unrest, strikes, war and/or any other adverse factors beyond the Company’ control, the Company may at any time cancel such tour or what remains of it or make alterations to the route, accommodation, price and/or any other aspect thereof as it deems fit, and any losses and expenses resulting from such cancellation or alteration shall be for the account of the customer.

2.6 All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the supplier of the services which the customer contracts for in terms of the booking. The Company will provide on request, the identity of the supplier and such supplier’s terms and conditions may include, but are not limited to, provisions regarding the cancellation fees or amendment fees applicable to confirmed reservations, refunds/no refunds for no-shows/unused services; late booking fees; baggage allowances; confirmation of flights, etc. In the case of airlines, the general cancellation fee applicable to tickets issued, is 25% (twenty five per centum); the typical baggage allowance 20kg; extension of ticket validity is not permitted and the customer must reconfirm his/her flight within 72 hours prior to departure.

2.5 Save in the event of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company, neither the Company nor representatives shall be liable for any loss, injury, death or damages, arising from any tour/travel package set out herein.

2.6 The Company will not be held responsible for any charges that appear on a traveler’s credit card, nor accept responsibility for having any of these charges reversed or corrected upon the traveler’s return to his/her country of departure/final destination.

3. Packages Prices & Details

3.1 Prices quoted on the Company’s price schedule, which prices the tours and products offered in these packages, are based on air fares (where included), hotel prices, land costs and rates of exchange at the date printed on the price schedule. The Company reserves the right to adjust prices by way of a revised price schedule from time to time, in accordance with increases in air fares, hotel rates, entrance fees, government and regional levies and taxes and currency fluctuations.

3.2 Air fares are subject to the prices and conditions quoted by the airlines and cannot be guaranteed by the Company.

3.3 All information contained in the Company’s packages/itinerary and price schedules are to the best of the Company’s knowledge and belief to be true and correct, but the Company accepts no liability for any errors/inaccuracies contained therein.

3.4 Any discounts applicable to minor children, are set out in the price schedule.

3.5 On confirmation of booking, the customer shall be liable to pay the tour price set out in the most current version of the price schedule, applicable at time of confirmation.

3.6 Prices quoted do not include any items or services not specified in these packages, or the Company’s pro forma invoice. Typical items not included may be: airport taxes, costs of obtaining visas and passports, telephone calls, laundry, entertainment arrangements, gratuities and portage, airfares or any other item of a personal nature not specified in itinerary.

4. Reservations

4.1 On confirmation of the booking the customer shall pay the Company a deposit of 25 % of the total price.

4.2 The balance owing on the invoice must be paid six weeks prior to departure.

4.3 In the event of any reservation being completed less than 30 (thirty) days prior to departure, the total price is due immediately on confirmation and is non-refundable.

4.4 The Company reserves the right to cancel any reservation for which payment has not been made by the due date, in which event any deposit paid will be forfeited to the Company.

4.5 Documentation is only prepared on receipt of full and final payment and completed booking form and travel declaration.

4.6 Confirmation of the booking and payment of the deposit shall constitute acceptance of the Company’s terms and conditions of business.

5. Payment and Penalty Fees

5.1 Credit Card payments will be billed in local South African Rand Currency.

5.2 In the event of the customer cancelling their reservation for any reason, such cancellation must be made in writing and in such instances cancellation charges will be levied as follows:

45 days – 30 days prior to departure: 20% of total price

29 days – 22 days prior to departure: 25% of total price

21 days – 15 days prior to departure: 50% of total price

14 days – 08 days prior to departure: 70% of total price

07 days or less prior to departure: 100% of total price

5.3 Special payment and cancellation conditions may apply for peak periods, and as set out in Clause 2.5, all travel arrangements are subject to the booking conditions and cancellation provisions of the supplier thereof.

5.4 Amendments and all cancellations en route must be made with the Company directly. Please note that en route cancellations and amendments may incur additional fees as determined by the Company. Any such amounts due as a result of such amendments/cancellations made directly with the Company are payable directly to the Company.

5.5 Amendments to confirmed reservations will be processed at a fee of R 100 ($17)(excl. 14%VAT) for each alteration made to the booking after the initial reservation. If notices of amendment/s are received within 45 (forty five) days prior to departure, the above cancellation charges will also be levied. Administration charges will be levied on all documentation/vouchers submitted for re-issue or refund.

5.6 No refunds will be made for no-shows, or any unused services irrespective of whether they form part of the basic inclusive tour price, or whether they are in respect of pre-booked optional arrangements.

6. Hotels, Coaches & Services

The Company reserves the right to substitute hotels or coach operators or other services listed with others of a similar or higher category at no additional cost to the traveler, even after commencement of the tour.

7. Special Requests

Special requests must be made at the time of booking. The Company will endeavor to comply with the special requests, which will be for the cost of the traveler, but cannot guarantee that such requests will be met.

8. Travel Documents, Passports, Visas, Vaccinations, Inoculations and Re-entry Permits and International Driver’s Licenses

8.1 All travelers will be personally responsible for ensuring that they are in the possession of the correct documentation prior to their departure.

8.2 The Company shall not be responsible for any consequences whatsoever should the traveler fail to ensure that he/she has complied with the necessary health, passport, visa, re-entry permits, or other legal requirements. Due to the constantly changing requirements of each country, the Company shall not be responsible or liable for any information, which it or its representative may furnish to the traveler in relation to the above.

8.3 Should the Company be required to courier documents; any costs incurred will be for the customer’s account.

8.4 If travelers intend to drive a rental car, they should obtain an international driving permit from their local transport authority. The traveler must also be in possession of his/her local driving license, and produce same at the car rental check-in counter.

9. Insurance

9.1 All travelers are advised to, and are solely responsible, to take out comprehensive travel insurance and to familiarize themselves with any exceptions and conditions as may be imposed by the insurance company or underwriters issuing the policy of insurance which they select. The Company shall not be responsible or liable:

9.1.1 for any information which it or its representatives furnish in relation to travel insurance; or

9.1.2 for filing/prosecuting a claim on the traveler’s behalf against any insurer/underwriter who has issued a policy to the traveller;

9.1.3 for any claim disputed/rejected by the insurers.

 10. Travel Declarations

The Company requires that all foreign payments that are made on behalf of any South African travelers must be deducted from the traveler’s foreign exchange allowance. A currency declaration to this effect must be lodged before final documentation can be released.

11. General Information

11.1 The Company shall not be bound by any representation, warranty, promise or the like not recorded herein, or agreed to by it in writing. No representation, term, warranty or condition expressed or implied shall be considered to be, or have been made or agreed or implied, by reference to any other writing, advertisement or conversation.

11.2 No indulgence, which the Company may grant to any party, shall constitute a waiver of any of the rights of the Company, who shall not thereby be precluded from exercising any rights against the customer and/or the traveller which may have arisen in the past or which might arise in the future.

11.3 Should the Company appoint a tour guide in respect of any tour, the traveller shall be obliged to comply with all reasonable instructions of such tour guide. The Company reserves the right to terminate the tour of any traveler who wrongfully or unlawfully fails to adhere to the reasonable instructions of an appointed tour guide, and/or causes any wrongful disruption, disturbance or nuisance to any other traveler, tour group or service provider.

11.4 All travelers shall comply with any prohibition on smoking imposed on any coaches and at any hotels/venues on any tour.
